ReadyDoc Mass Name Change
Occasionally the subjects of ReadyDoc documents change their names - for instance through marriage or divorce. When this happens there is a quick way to rename the metadata associated with subject documents using the ReadyDoc Mass Name change feature.
Prerequisite: To use the Mass Name Change feature you must be a member of the Administrator group in ReadyDoc.
Steps:
- Login to the ReadyDoc web application art https://app.readydoc.com
- From the system menu, select Manage, Mass Name Change.

- On the Mass Name Change window, select an index card that contains the data to be change

Note: Our process looks for any index card fields with the word "Name" in the field.
- Provide the current name values to be searched and click the Search button.
We recommend leaving middle name empty initially in case there are documents that were captured without it. After reviewing the "found" documents you can determine if including middle name will identify all the desired documents. If not, repeat this procedure first without middle name and then with middle name or initial.

- Review the search results for both documents and folder names. You can uncheck any documents that you wish to exclude, or conversely, you can click the Unselect All checkbox to uncheck all within each section and select only specific documents or folders. In our example below we are renaming documents and folders for "Roberta Woods" to "Roberta Smith".
When you are ready. click the "Rename Selected" button to invoke the rename process.
- Click "Yes" to confirm the rename request or "No" to revise the list of documents or folders.

- The Update Successful message will appear when the rename is complete.

NOTE: If the ReadyDoc Folder View tab is open and folders were renamed, you will need to Refresh folders to see the changed folder names, or logout and log back in to ReadyDoc and select the Folder View again.
